C fine powder
Commonly known as "Carborundum," our C fine powder is a black silicon carbide (SiC) abrasive.
Like our GC series, it is composed of alpha-type (α-SiC) crystals synthesized through a thermal reaction of silica and coke in an electric resistance furnace at temperatures exceeding 2000°C.
While the purity and hardness of the C series are slightly lower than those of GC, it offers superior toughness. This characteristic, combined with a stable cutting edge and an optimized particle size distribution, makes it exceptionally well-suited for high-efficiency abrasive processing.
The C series is an ideal material for coated abrasives and finishing whetstones. It delivers outstanding performance in the processing of cast iron, brass, copper, aluminum, and grinding stone. Furthermore, it is the premier choice for precision honing applications, where consistent durability and surface integrity are required.
